An essay is usually a short piece of writing which is quite often written from an author's personal point of view. Essays can consist of a number of elements, including: literary criticism, political manifestos, learned arguments, observations of daily life, recollections, and reflections of the author. The definition of an essay is vague, overlapping with those of custom essay an article and a short story. Almost all modern essays are written in prose, but works in verse have been dubbed essays (e.g. Alexander Pope's An Essay on Criticism and An Essay on Man). While brevity usually defines an essay, voluminous works like John Locke's An Essay Concerning Human Understanding and Thomas Malthus's An Essay on the Principle of Population provide counterexamples.

The cottage is gated from the country road and stands in it's own, self contained plot of around 1/3 acre. There are spectacular views from the front lawn and at the rear of the property is a large lawn and mini orchard (nuts, apples and kiwis!)

Our beautiful cottage sits in its private grounds behind a gate from the quiet road which leads to Landelau.

Landeleau is only 45 minutes from the port of Roscoff and 2hrs from St Malo. For this holiday you need some transport - a set of bikes for the family or a car. There is so much to see and do in the area and there are shops close by for those daily needs such as baguettes and milk.

Location: The house is between the towns of Carhaix and Chateau-Neuf du Faou both these have a weekly market.

The nearest village being Landeleau. There is a bakery and a general store as well as a bar and tabac here. Just 15 minutes away is the Armorique nature park and forest with the historic village of Huelgoat close by.

Things To Do: About twenty minutes drive from your holiday home, there is the town of Carhaix Plouguer. Carhaix lies on the crossroads of several old Roman roads and is one of the strongholds of Breton traditions. It is a bustling little place with many shops and an abundance of restaurants offering you the chance to try the superb local cuisine. For those of you who would rather avoid shopping there is a sports and leisure complex, or if you would prefer to take it a bit easier there is an expansive park with a paddling pool and lots of room for you to walk or the children to play.

Chateau Neuf du Faou is about ten minutes away. Again this is a small market town,through which runs the Nance Brest Canal. Fishing and boating are available here at very little cost. I would also suggest taking a picnic and sitting here to watch the world go by!

Moving on, Huelgoat is about seven miles away. Here we have the famous standing stones, together with caverns and caves. This area is steeped in ancient history. A wonderful days exploring for all the family and again wonderful fishing with picnic areas beside the river.

Roscoff ferry port is about three quarters of an hour from your holiday home. Apart from the crossings to Plymouth, Cork and Rosslare, you can visit the Ile De Batz, a small island just off the coast. In Roscoff you will be charmed by the winding streets with their 19th century merchant houses and narrow alleys. Of interest in this town are the subtropical gardens with over 2000 plant species from the southernn hemisphere, covering about 1.5 hectaters. There is the Aquarium, The Museum of the "Johnnies", The military museum, A Model Boat Museum and also The Church of Notre Dame De Croats.

If you wish to get a bit of a tan the sandy beaches are lovely to relax on. Many famous Brits have visited Roscoff, including Mary Queen of Scotts, Bonnie Prince Charlie and Henri Oliver. The market is held on a Wednesday morning in Roscoff.

Less than 10 minutes from Landeleau is the beautifully quaint village of Collorec. With its picture postcard streets, the buildings are adorned with a mass of window boxes and hanging baskets bearing a heavy scent of flowers. The main street leads to the pretty historic church and overlooks countryside that glows with greenery.

Collorec's lake offers facilities for bathing and ajoins parkland which is ideal for picnics and country walks. There's also an obstacle course and play park for the more energetic.Quimper should not be missed, this is a bustling city with the Nantes Brest canal running through the centre. You can spend a whole day wandering through the cobbled streets with its quaint old shops. You can also buy your English papers here. For enjoyable all day outings, try canoeing at Quimper. You can canoe up the river, picnic on the beach, or even swim from your canoe. The price includes canoe, paddles, and life jackets. A very enjoiable day,at 18 Euros for a double canoe. LA-RECRE is a theme park, similar to Alton Towers. There is some thing for all. For just a one off payment of 28 Euro's its far cheaper than English theme parks.
